Surrounding ski areas and untouched nature enable ski tours or snowshoeing, sledding with family or a beautiful day on the slopes during winter.

Our castle is near to tyrolean ski areas in Zillertal and at the Achensee. Enjoy the winter on marked cross country tracks, during horsesled-rides and sledding or simply experience the winter romance during a walk.

After 10 minutes of walking, you'll find yourself in the historical center of the Silvercity Schwaz. Here you can find everything you need for a stay with us in Tyrol.

Visit the closely located Silberschaubergwerk or the planetarium in Schwaz or go for walks or hikes on marked trails through fields and forests or just lay in the sun and dream. We will kindly give you tips for the most beautiful hikes in the Silverregion Karwendel.

If you are travelling with your bicycle, you can cycle along the Inn-cycle-path or you get a Mountainbike-guide from the tourist board and explore your surroundings - from easy to hard.

In the surrounding public pools you can refresh yourself and rest from the struggles of a biketour or hike. As an alternative, you can also go to the Achensee. From the nearby Jenbach  you can reach the Seespitz via the Achenseebahn (bicycles can be carried on).From there you can do a cruise on one of  Tyrol's biggest lakes with the Achenseecruise - maybe including a romantic picnic at the Gaisalm dock.

On the 4th of September 2012 innkeepers, friends and partners of the union "Tiroler Wirtshauskultur" came together in the historical rooms and the guest garden of castle Mitterhart to celebrate 20 years of Tyrolean Tavern-culture.
